This October and November, join our celebration of everyday riding on the recently upgraded Cecil Street bike route in South Melbourne. Whether you’re a new or regular rider there’s an activity for everyone this spring, with pedal-powered cinema, bike breakfast, free tune-ups, bike confidence training and more.

Bike Confidence Courses – become an everyday rider!

Sunday 21 October 2018 – two half-day sessions, starting at the MSAC forecourt:

  • Session 1: 9 am to 12.30 pm
  • Session 2: 1 pm to 4.30 pm

Great for anyone who knows how to ride but feels nervous about making it an everyday thing. This 3.5-hour practical course is the ideal way to increase your bike riding confidence. You’ll be in a small group of less than ten riders, starting in a traffic-free setting, then moving onto shared paths and roads, finishing with a ride along the Cecil Street bike route. The course covers bike safety checks, road rules and essential skills for safe riding.
Sessions commence at MSAC, 30 Aughtie Drive, Albert Park

Cost: $25/$15 concession
Bookings essential, places limited. Bookings close 10 am Thursday 18 October.

Cecil Noir Twilight Ride and Pedal-Powered Cinema

Saturday 27 October 2018
From 6 pm
Join Projector Bike for a ride from Albert Park to South Melbourne Market followed by a pedal-powered viewing of Triplets of Belleville (2003). BYO picnic to enjoy in our French café setting.

Cost: $15/$10 concession

We hope you enjoy riding on Cecil Street bike route, recently upgraded with 1.8-metre lanes, improved buffer zones, traffic signalling and improved connectivity to Albert Park. Ride your bike to South Melbourne Market, MSAC and Emerald Hill Heritage Centre. You’ll find bike pumps, excellent bike parking and Melbourne Bike Share stations at all three destinations.
