By now everybody is fully aware of Coronavirus and its possible ramifications for us all, so I won’t go into detail on that.
Back2bikes will remain open as long as is practical and allowed. The workshop is airy, and our workstand configuration means that the 1.5 metre interpersonal distance can be maintained.
The nature of our mechanical work with bikes means that volunteers either wear gloves, or are constantly wiping their hands clean on the towels provided. The solvent we use in parts cleaner will also kill any bacteria or virus, and the parts of the bike we are touching are parts that most bike riders don’t touch, and should not be a source of infection.
We believe that keeping bikes running is an essential service. Using your bike instead of your car or public transport will make you healthier and keep you away from possible infection. Bikes will play a big part as a safe transport option while we are dealing with the pandemic.
We do ask that if you are unwell with possible Coronavirus symptoms, that you do not attend, either as a volunteer or customer.
Some of our volunteers are in an at-risk category, and have chosen not to attend for the moment to reduce their chance of infection.
Our evening workshops will also continue. Again we ask that if you are unwell that you do not attend.
